I saw this on someone's blog and thought it interesting in light of our cold and snow. Hard to complain about our weather, right?

Monday again

I have not posted any snow pictures, although dad put a couple on his picasa site. I guess at this point I'm getting more anxious about the snow than enjoying it. I am halfway ready but have several errands I wanted to do, and don't know if I will do them today or not. Last night when we came home from Steve and Sandra's there was a little drifitng in the driveway, even though Tim had kept it open by shoveling several times during the day. This morning there's a good 8 inches in front of the garage door which would need shoveling to get the Sante Fe out.

Friday- another day in winter wonderland

I am feeling just the teensiest bit housebound. It's really not bad, the snow is beautiful to watch. I had thought about going out to do a couple of errands, but after shoveling the berm out I lost the mood to go out and just enjoyed staying home the rest of the day. Susie has done a more than adequate job of showing the snow here in the area, so I won't post any pictures tonight.

Tomorrow night we are going to (another) Christmas Party at Tim's house (Tim's boss). Yay. It is a brand new house, so that should be interesting.

Wednesday

Tuesday at 1 below

I had a lovely birthday yesterday with several phone calls, including all of my kids!!! Thank you. Dad took me out to TGI Fridays. GOOD food. Dad had enough left over to take in his lunch today.

I feel fortunate to think that Selma Lundin, who is only 4 days younger than myself, will celebrate her birthday at the hospice house in Spokane on Friday.

One week from today we leave for SLO.

Frosty, the Snowstorm...

It's very pretty to see the snow. Dad had to go buy shovels for the guys this morning and bring them all the way up to the office! In spite of asking them this week if they had shovels and they said yes, he got a call during the night that they didn't have any shovels.

The only reason I'm going to go out today is to go to Albertsons for a few minutes. It's a perfect day to stay inside.

Thursday's foggy

Dense fog today - it feels like you're walking through a wall of moisture.

We had a wonderful time with our two workers last evening and this morning. Jenith is probably 60ish - actually went to tech school in the Cities years ago, so she knows lots of MN people.

Tim and I just finished having a massage. He had been having some neck trouble after holding the chain saw above his head to cut down branches from Diane's tree. The chiro fixed it and then a massage helped.

Monday, Monday

Some of the ladies publish things they appreciate about their husbands, so I thought I would add a couple:

- I said I wanted to plant some herbs on my windowsill and he made me this lovely cedar planter.

- Every year for my birthday he gets me a gift certificate to a quilting store - which is exactly what I want the most.

- He clears the counter and loads the dishwasher every night after supper

He never complains about what I cook and never says he dislikes something.

That's it for starters.

We had a lovely birthday celebration yesterday starting at Red Robin and finishing up at Jeff and Susies. Susie had made a lovely ice cream cake with mint oreos in it. Thanks, Susie! After which Hunter provided us with some entertainment. We forgot our camera.

Wider blog

I want to figure out how to make this blog wider - I know you can do it - I just have to take the time to read up on it - half the screen is wasted.

Here are the potholders, Carissa, that I made for the girls, as well as the grocery store bags (Ginny, you will probably recognize the fabric). I got them from that U-Handbag site from your blog. I made a few changes. I put a stiffener in the bottom and did the handles slightly different.

Amusing old pictures

I see some of the girls add an old picture from time to time for amusement, so I thought I would share this one. Long before the current generation had thought of making faces at the camera, our boys had already invented it - haha.

We actually saw the sun today

Monday morning is a really good time to go to Wal-Mart, which I did. Granted, some shelves aren't totally stocked, but really it wasn't bad.

Here's a saying I like: (stolen from someone's blog) Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you have.

We enjoyed pizza and good fellowship last night at Kurt and Jeannie's. Spur of the moment invite, but sometimes they are best!

Winter Slid In

Here's a picture for you, Carissa. Amber (neighbor girl) made a snowman in the swale in the front yard. It' pretty out there, but I think it's gonna melt today. Dad, Jeff and Todd (Steve wasn't feeling up to par - probably too much food the day before :-) went four wheeling yesterday and you can see some pictures on Dad's picasa album.

Keeping Up With the Photographers

Early Sunday morning when Dad and I went out for our walk the leaves on the roses in the front yard were coated with dew just on the outside - like the edges were dipped in sugar - (I'm not trying to keep up with you photographers - or wait - maybe I am :-).

This morning I am taking Clair to the doctor and then this afternoon will be doing some getting ready for Thanksgiving things.

Early Monday Morning

It's in the low 20's today. Tim got a call right at 6 sharp from one of the fellows, who has the "flu" and will not be in today - vomiting, the works. It's quite common and one begins to wonder how many times a person can have the flu! Anyway, this means he is one man short and will probably have to spend some time working outside, so he went upstairs and added some layers of clothes. He doesn't mind it, though - he actually enjoys some physical work, always has.

We had Sunday lunch here yesterday and had Doug Arestead with us - he is a brother to Gwen from Wisconsin.

New attchment for Kitchen Aid

I saw this attachment for the Kitchen Aid, which I really think is neat. The beater has little blades like windshield wiper blades on it. The reviews I read on it were very positive. This is my one complaint with the Kitchen Aid - it is hard to get a scraper down to the bottom. I was trying to cut and paste a picture of it, but am not successful. You can see it here. Plus this web site is neat.
