Fun Day At Todd and Amy's Property!!

We had a wonderfully fun day at Todd and Amy's property yesterday. Unfortuntely, Grandpa didn't feel well enough to go, but here are a few pictures. The rest of the pictures I will put up on Picasa later today, probably with a few pictures of Tim and my trip on the four-wheeler.

Dad Trims the Hedge

Well, this certainly isn't headliner news, but I thought it was time to put something up on the blog! Dad trimmed the hedge and now we can see the mountains again from the kitchen - he trimmed about 2 1/2 feet of it. I picked up the branches.

Also, here's the little cushion I made for that old stool.

Garden

Here's the garden now - everything's blooming.

New living room look

Here's the sweater from Knitters magazine that I was telling you about.

Got the chairs cleaned and put in place. Here it is.

Father's Day

Yesterday the family came over for Father's Day and we had brats and hot dogs on the grill and some salmon on the grill. Everyone played dice while Hunter and I caught up on some book reading and playing. The weather wasn't too cooperative but we enjoyed an indoor picnic.

New Chairs

Here are the new chairs I purchased at a garage sale on our street. I really love them. They aren't the exact color I would have chosen had I been able to pick a color from a color chart, but I don't hate the color and, for now, may just use pillows to coordinate.

White Skirt

I decided I didn't have anything to wear with this top I made awhile ago, so I made a white skirt to go with it. The fabric is like light-weight denim, although it is not denim and has a little pattern on it.

Felted Slippers

It's like performing a magic trick every time you felt a project. I was happy with the way these slippers turned out. The pattern suggests putting them on your feet while still damp and do further fitting and shaping. They are super comfy. (for before/after comparison see post a little further down.)

Summer is here!

Here is Hunter playing his first street hockey game. And some pictures of us enjoying some time by Liberty Lake and Todd and Amy's jet ski.

I do like this picture of the boys sitting there relaxing.

And we are all SO excited. I guess it takes a cold winter to appreciate summer.

Hunter

I had to add one more picture of Hunter's birthday (from those that Susie put on). I like this one of him licking frosting off the car. He got training wheels for his new bike yesterday and Jeff came over in the evening while Susie went to a decorating party. He rode that bike for about an hour and a half. Don't know how his little legs could pump the pedals that long.

Felted Bag

One of the friends in California that Carissa and Ben know had seen my bag when we were down there. It's the same pattern as this only a different color. She asked me to make her one and she would give me a picture in return. She is a well-known artist (in California). So here is the lovely picture she sent, which I am going to get matted and framed.

Cute Thrift Store Book

Here is a cute thrift store book that I got for Hunter. A couple of the tools are missing, but Tim and I are making them... Why? 'Cause it's fun!

Slippers

Here is Step #2 of my felted slippers. Yes, they look ugly now. I only have one done so it will be a little while before I post a picture of the finished product.

Knitted Slippers

Here are some slippers I started yesterday. The pattern requires thinking, which is probably good for my brain! Very fun, though.

One picture

Here are the four of us girls. We have been busy looking at assisted living places. Some are very nice. I asked the lady at the one that was very nice at what age their youngest resident was - she said 54 - and I am tempted to take dad and move in! Their little "bistro" cafe is so cute where you can buy 1/2 sandwich for lunch for $2.50. I'll put some up on Picasa soon. We didn't take very many, though.

Sewing Stuff again

Here's my latest purchase - these labels are woven - and I figured they would work for either knitting or sewing.

I am going to make a DRESS - I have noticed on sewing blogs that dresses are one of the most popular things that ladies are sewing now. I thought I would use this McCalls pattern - might add a slight flare on the bottom. The fabric is not exactly what I wanted - it's so hard to find just the right fabric. it's thin and has to be lined. Just a little more work, but I am excited about starting it.

Garage Sale and Sewing Project

Here's my garage sale find of the morning (the flowers, not the blouse). I finished up the hand sewing on the blouse this morning. It's some fabric I got at the expo.
