Christmas 2010

I will attempt to post a few pictures, even though our internet connection has been so slow lately. Time to call Qwest, I think. Carissa and Ben were here for a week and she and I sewed while Ben and Tim spent time in the shop. Plus lots of family time!

Dinner at Jeff and Susie's with delicious ribs and pasta!

Christmas day at our place. Grandpa was able to get out. Here he is talking on the phone to one of his kids!

These three guys played Risk all afternoon. Sometimes a turn is soooooo long!

Then we made lefsa and Auntie Amy told Hunter the lefsa would turn out SO good if he had some flour on his nose!

Meanwhile, the game goes on...

Meanwhile, lefsa making goes on with some people preparing dough, one rolling, one cooking the lefsa, one taking the finished product, and one preparing to eat!

Quite a trick to get the lefsa turned over.

Hunter learning to play "up and down the river" or "knock knock" or.... whatever name you happen to call it!

And last, but not least, is this Amy Butler coat that Carissa and I spent several days making. This isn't the best picture to see the coat details, but we were happy with the way it turned out!

Sledding!!

Even though the weather is balmy today and the snow is melting rapidly, Tim thought of a place near the park where the sun doesn't hit much, and took Hunter sliding today. Don't you love the expression. It makes you wish you were young again doesn't it?

Trip to Moab, UT - Canyonlands and Arches

Here's a few pictures of our trip to Canyonlands and Arches near Moab, Utah. There are two national parks only a few miles apart. The weather was absolutely beautiful. A light jacket was plenty and there was sunshine to make good photos!

These rocks are called the Three Penguins. Later we saw people climbing up these rocks.

From lois

You can't see the whole thing, but these rocks looked like Park Avenue in New York City. It was amazing.

This is Landscape Arch, one of the two most famous arches in the Park. In the 1990's a chunk fell out of the arch, so now you can't go up close and look at it. Some guy got a picture of it falling!!

From lois

It had been quite windy the day before, so all the previous footprints had blown in with sand. The Parks weren't very busy, so it was an ideal time to go.

From lois

This is the trail to Delicate Arch - a mile and a half - mostly uphill. You will see the little stone piles - these marked the trail, as it isn't like hiking in a forest where the path is worn. Once you got to one stone pile you could see the next one. Delicate Arch is a famous Utah symbol and is well worth the hike.

Here's Tim in Canyonlands - every bit as majestic as the Grand Canyon.

You must go there sometime. It's too good to miss!

A Fall Day in the Woods

I went with Tim, Jeff, and a friend, Bill Winter, to watch Hunter while they cut wood.

I've Been a Lazy Blogger

We spent a weekend in Vancouver with Carissa and Ben. Tim and Ben went on a hike while Carissa and I hit a couple of fabric stores. Sunday we were invited to Ben's aunt and uncle for dinner. Sitting with Carissa and Ben is Ben's grandma and beside me are two of Ben's aunts.

Day 4 - In the Tent

Two people, one grandpa and one little boy, were sleeping in 63 or so seconds.

From lois

Pretty hilarious. One tent pole is missing/broken(as we last remember) so the tent is warped and held out on two sides by paint cans.....
